Cooperation Projects under the FO.AR

  • Promotion of SMEs
    • Between September 2011 and November 2013, nine stages were carried out, in which 24 Argentine and Senegalese technicians were mobilized.
    • On November 29, 2013, a seminar was held at the Ministry of Commerce, Development, Investments and Consumer Affairs of Santa Lucia in the framework of the closure of the FOAR 6068 project and the possible presentation of a new technical cooperation project to facilitate the reopening of an industrial plant in the city of Soufrière.
  • Geographic information systems
    • Strengthening capacities in the area of geographic information systems. Displacement of two technicians from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic to Saint Lucia from 19 to 24 November 2012.
  • Agriculture
    • Aquaculture and fish processing. Displacement of an INTI technician to Saint Lucia from December 9 to 12, 2012
    • Processing of agricultural products and food processing. Displacement of an INTI technician to Saint Lucia from 13 to 15 December 2012
    • Between 4 and 6 March, a joint mission of DGCIN - Ministry of Agriculture visited Saint Lucía, who held several working meetings with high level representatives of the Government of Saint Lucia in order to follow up on existing cooperation projects and to identify new areas of cooperation.
    • Between 26 and 27 November, the Regional Workshop on Regulation of Biotechnology in Agriculture was held at the premises of the Ministry of Agriculture of Saint Lucia. The workshop was funded by FAO and co-sponsored by the local Ministry of Agriculture and was attended by experts from the Argentine Ministry of Agriculture, SENASA, INTA and the National Seed Institute (INASE) of agriculture of Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent, Grenada, Dominica, Antigua and Barbuda, and Saint Kitts and Nevis. The purpose of the workshop, the first of its kind in this country, was primarily to explain to participants the regulatory framework of Argentina and its relationship with biosecurity and biotechnology.
  • Nautical Tourism
    • Exchange of experiences in the field of nautical tourism. Mission I. Displacement of a technician from Saint Lucia 7 to 15 September 2013. Mission II. Displacement of 3 technicians from the Ministry of Tourism. 30 November to 8 December 2013.
  • Culture
    • Between 27 and 28 of 2014 a technical cooperation project was developed between the Ministry of Culture of the Nation and the Ministry of Tourism, Cultural Patrimony and Creative Industries of Santa Lucia. This project, in the area of statistics applied to cultural industries, aims at strengthening and training in the implementation of the "Culture Satellite Account" between member states of the OAS, and was sponsored by that organization.
  • Civil Aviation
    • Exploratory mission in Civil Aviation. Displacement of 3 technicians from the National Civil Aviation Administration to Saint Lucia from May 3 to 11, 2014.
    • Officials from the Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA) traveled to Buenos Aires between May 27 and June 5, 2015 to participate in the airport training course
    • Officials from the National Civil Aviation Administration visited Saint Lucia from October 11th to 16th for an exploratory mission for future corporation projects in Civil Aviation
    • A professor from the Argentine National Civil Aviation Administration travelled to Saint Lucia from November 12th to 17th 2017 for a course in "Risk Prevention by Fauna in Aerodrome" with officials from the Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA) and other related agencies
    • A professor from the Argentine National Civil Aviation Administration travelled to Saint Lucia from March 12th to 16th 2018 for a course in "Airport Emergency Planning" with officials from the Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA) and other related agencies
  • Environment
    • Exploratory mission on environmental issues. Displacement 3 techniques of the Secretariat of Environment and Sustainable Development to Saint Lucia from 25 to 29 September 2013.
  • Humanitarian Assistance
    • The delivery of a cargo with humanitarian assistance to Santa Lucia was dealt with by the White Helmets Commission due to the great storm in this country. It was sent on February 21, 2014 to the Hewanorra International Airport
    • Between 9 and 11 February 2014, a visit to Saint Lucia was received from the technical assistance mission of the White Helmets Commission and INTA. The focus of the meetings was on collecting Saint Lucia's needs and vulnerabilities in agriculture and infrastructure, taking into account the risk of future natural disasters to which the island is exposed.
    • The International Workshop on Disaster Management in Jamaica was held from 12 to 14 March 2014 for officials from the Disaster Risk Management areas of Jamaica, the Bahamas, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, Grenada, Barbados and Dominica.
    • Between November 19 and 21, 2014, the seminar "Humanitarian Assistance as an Instrument for South-South Cooperation in the Latin American and Caribbean Region" was held in Argentina. The course was aimed at senior officials representing the Chancelleries of the Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Trinidad and Tobago.
  • Commerce
    • The companies Lazy Lagoon and Consolidated Foods Limited (CFL), both from Santa Lucia, participated in EXPOALADI 2015, in relation to the participation of Sicanese importers in the last edition of EXPOALADI, which took place in Buenos Aires from June 1 to 5 2015.
  • Public Sector
    • The participation of an official of the Ministry of External Affairs of Santa Lucia to the seminar on diplomatic training on trade and investment promotion for the CARICOM countries was held on November 3 and 4 in Havana.
