Argentina Holds Training in Saint Lucia on Emergency Airport Planning

As part of an on-going cooperation project with the government of Saint Lucia, the Argentine Fund for South-South and Triangular Cooperation (FO-AR), in association with the Argentine National Civil Aviation Administration and in collaboration with the Embassy of the Argentine Republic in Saint Lucia hosted a week-long workshop in “Emergency Airport Planning”.

 

The workshop which was planned partnering with the Department of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Economic Development, Housing, Urban Renewal, Transport and Civil Aviation, was led by Professor Gustavo Enrique GRAZIANI and held at the Financial Administrative Centre in Castries.

 

Incorporating both theory and practical modules, local counterparts including RSLPF, SLASLA, HACS, SLATCA, SLFS, NEMO, amoung others were made better equipped to handle real-life emergencies which may occur at our entry ports.

 

Impressing the importance of this exercises of this nature, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Argentine Embassy Mr. Nicolás Abad commented “It’s an honour to once again partner with the Department of Civil Aviation to strengthen the capacities in the aviation sector, by sharing our experiences and knowledge with Saint Lucia. Being the second of its kind, this course on Airport Emergency Planning serves as a true mark of the commitment that Saint Lucia has to improving the safety of their airports, one of the most important assets for the tourism industry, and Argentina’s commitment to helping improving the nation”.
